The Everyday Hostess and IBB at Home Summer Soiree

These Bacon Cheeseburger with Crispy Onion Ring Sliders are one of my all time favorite summertime recipes! They are so incredibly juicy and delicious and are just perfect for an outdoor BBQ party with your friends or a tasty family dinner at home.

We have taken a classic cheeseburger and topped it with our favorite Sweet Baby Ray’s Brown Sugar Sauce to give the perfect saucy sweetness to the dish and topped it with our crunchy thin onion rings and bacon! Could this get any better? I am craving it just thinking about it, so it may need to make another appearance on our dinner table tonight!

  2. 2 cups buttermilk
  3. 2 cups all-purpose flour
  4. Salt and pepper, to taste
  5. 1-2 cups of vegetable oil, for frying
Burger Patties
  1. 1 onion, finely chopped
  2. 1 tbs olive oil
  3. 1 garlic clove, crushed
  4. 2lbs ground beef
  5. ½ cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
  6. ½ cup fresh breadcrumbs
  7. 1 egg, beaten
  8. 1-2 teaspoons salt (to taste)
  9. Black pepper, to taste
Cheeseburger
  1. Sliced Cheddar Cheese
  2. 10 slices of Bacon, cooked to your preference
  3. Pickles
  4. Sweet Baby Ray’s Hickory Brown Sugar Sauce
  5. Hawaiian Rolls
For the Onion Rings
  1. Place onion rings in a medium bowl and pour the buttermilk over the top. Cover with plastic wrap and allow to rest for one hour.
  2. In a separate shallow dish, add the flour and the salt and pepper and mix until thoroughly combined.
  3. In a deep skillet, heat the oil to 375°F.
  4. Working in small batches, dip the buttermilk covered onion rings in the flour mixture until fully coated. Shake off the excess and immediately place them in the frying pan. Using a metal slotted spoon, mix up the onions so as not to stick to each other and cook until golden brown. Remove the onion rings from the oil and allow them to dry on a paper towel-lined plate. Repeat until all onion rings have been fried and set aside.
For the Burger Patties
  1. In a large frying pan, add the onions and the olive oil. Fry until the onions are a golden brown and add the garlic. Cook for about 30 more seconds and then remove them from the heat and allow to cool to room temperature.
  2. In a medium sized bowl, combine the cooled onions, beef, parsley, breadcrumbs, egg, salt and pepper.
  3. Form the beef mixture into 8-10 patties the size of your rolls.
  4. Place the patties on a tray lined with parchment paper and place in the fridge to chill for 30 minutes.
  5. Heat a cast iron pan until hot and cook the burgers until charred and cooked to your preference.
  6. Remove from the the sliders from the heat, top with the cheese and cover with aluminum foil for 2 minutes.
  7. Place the patties inside the bun and top with Sweet Baby Ray’s Hickory Brown Sugar Sauce, pickles and crispy onion rings. Enjoy!
