Searching for the perfect baby shower idea to celebrate the mother-to-be in your life? Drop anchor and settle in for our nautical baby shower brunch co-captained by our friends at Laurie Louis Design!

I’m thrilled that this brunch was our maiden voyage at our new house (that finally has a real dining table!) and am absolutely swooning over the nautical theme with a southern, beachy and classic flair.

Jump on in, the water’s great!

This baby shower screamed summer prep with our red, white and blue party decor from Laurie Louis Design, which we paired with some of our favorite nautical lanterns, ship wheels, fishing net, and, of course, life ring buoys! Laurie specializes in custom and southern-inspired stationery and gifts, so I knew that there was no better way to bring our vision to life for this nautical brunch than with some of her custom decor – especially her crab themed line, which helped pull this entire party together!

The invitation sets the style and mood for every party, so it had to be a stand out! We loved creating this adorable “Ahoy It’s a Boy” invitation using Laurie’s designs.

We served a selection of some of our favorite brunch bites, including sausage buoy balls, a lifesavers bagel bar, homemade chocolate chip muffins and fruit parfait, which we featured using Laurie’s themed place cards and menu cards. And we all know it’s all about the details, so, of course, we made sure they correlated perfectly with the invitation. Laurie Louis Designs also has the cutest matching recipe cards, so we had all the guests write out their favorite brunch recipe for mom and lil’ matey!

Now this party would not have been complete without a Bloody Mary bar featuring the cutest acrylic crab drink tray, ice bucket and the matching coasters from Laurie Louis Design! Presentation is key, and these helped pull our entire vision together and was the perfect way to serve our favorite morning pick-me-up to all our guests.

We had an absolute ball showering our favorite mama-to-be! We ate, we drank (only virgin drinks for our guest of honor, of course!), we played the baby shower games everyone looks forward to 😉 and most importantly celebrated our gal’s exciting little bundle of joy in southern style!

Laurie Louis’s treasure trove of party decor is fit for any gathering, at sea or ashore! The red, white and blue color palette is perfect for a preppy, aquatic affair like this baby shower, but will also come in handy for the summer’s patriotic parties, so be sure to check out her shop while you plan your upcoming Memorial Day BBQ’s and 4th of July gatherings!
